Goals & Projects

Health:

Achievements 2008-2011

-provided over 200 malaria nets

-treated over 700 patients with the help of 2 medical professionals

-continuously supplied basic medication and simple wound and dressing materials

 

Project 2011/2012: with the £23,000 raised from our charity dinner we have built a medical station in Konya. The solar panels which will be put in by 2012 will be donated by Sindicatum Climate Change Foundation. Our aim in 2012 is to fully equip our new medical station!

Education:

Achievements 2008-2011

-we found sponsorship for 10 orphans to go to secondary school for 2 years running

-we built a brand new classroom

-we openend and built a new school kitchen (which provides all primary and secondary school pupils with a warm lunch)

-Opened and fully equipped a brand new school library with over 2000 books

 

Continuing project is to keep supporting the education of many pupils in Konya.

 

 

Basic needs:

Achievements 2008-2011

-provided food and clothes for the poorest villagers since 2008 (self-collected items which were shipped by containers directly to Konya)

-aided 10 local farmers to use drip irrigation, composting, planting, weeding and crop harvest in order to successfully allow sustainable farming and thus providing the whole community with a better way of life

-supplied a briquette-making press which provides Konya with an excellent renewable energy source

-built 4 wells with help from the Waterloo Foundation which provide clean water to over 1000 people. This has immensly changed the lives of all villagers and Konya's agriculture

 

Project 2012: to fully equip our medical station and continue to provide the community with a better standard of living by providing a safe, sanitable and healthy environment
