Goals & Projects

Health:

We want to invest in health and sanitation. Our focus is on battling malaria and on providing basic medical self help.

What we have done so far: in 2008 we supplied 180 Malaria nets, treated 500 patients and brought medication and dressings to the village.
Project 2010: provide regular medical aid in cooperation with other charities.
Longterm project: build up a medical station.

Education:

We want to further education in Konya Village, as educating the children is the best investment for the future. We believe, all children must have the chance to attend primary and secondary school. The school in the village needs more books and other materials..
What we have done so far: brought school materials to Konya in 2008, built and equipped secondary school for 100 pupils.
Projects 2010: sponsor 10 orphans to go to secondary school, build new school kitchen, provide books and school materials (exercise books, calculators).
Projects 2011: improve equipment of primary school, school library, sponsor gifted students to go to university.

Basic needs:

Hunger and poverty are a huge problem in Konya. We want to help the villagers to make economic progress by improving their farming skills and providing them with clean accessible water.
What we have done so far: brought food and clothes to the poorest villagers in Sept 2008, trained Konya-farmers in cooperation with charity ‘Excellent Development” and started to build up seed banks in 2009
Projects 2010: improve farming through composting, increase water supply (tanks, pumps, drip irrigation), build several wells, build up small scale business producing interlocking blocks from soil
